Large tray or plastic washing up bowl, soft sand, a small plate and animal food, for example, dog biscuits, rabbit food, nuts, seeds or cold porridge Step by step

* Fill the tray or plastic washing bowl with soft sand almost to the top and smooth the surface.

* Place a plate in the middle over the sand and fill it with some food for your guests to eat. Ask the children for their ideas as to what they think different creatures will eat.
