Conference on children as musicians

How to help young children fulfil their potential as musicians is explored at a two-day conference in York (2 - 3 February 2011) by charity Music4U in conjunction with the National Centre for Early Music.

It features interactive sessions with Lucinda Geoghegan, educational consultant for the Youth Choir of Scotland and the Wigmore Hall's Chamber Tots Programme, and explains simple techniques for inspiring babies and children musically.

There will also be a session on music technology for early years.

The NCEM's education consultant Dr Cathryn Drew will chair the conference and lead a song-sharing session.
