Christmas is coming, and what better way for children to count down the days than with a homemade advent calendar? Choose from a traditional calendar with doors to open, or a three-dimensional version containing sweets and small gifts.
Traditional calendar
A handmade advent calendar makes a lovely pre-Christmas surprise for parents or brothers and sisters.
You will need:
two sheets of thin card, measuring approximately 25cm by 35cm; paper knife and metal ruler (available from stationers); wooden chopping board; white PVA craft glue; black felt pen; Blu-tack; materials for decorating the calendar - Christmas stickers, old Christmas cards, glitter glue pens, felt pens, paint
