Court case: Nursery owner jailed for child sex offences

A nursery owner has been given an indeterminate sentence of 40 months for sexually assaulting young children.

Daniel Lynch, 27, who lives near Maidenhead, Berkshire, and who ownedtwo nurseries near Slough, was jailed for life last week after pleadingguilty to 39 charges of child abuse and sexual offences.

These include sexual assault of a child under 13 and taking indecentpictures of a child. His indeterminate sentence means that he will serveat least 40 months in jail before being considered for parole.

Mr Lynch has also been placed on the Sex Offenders' Register.

Ofsted suspended the registration of both nurseries in August 2007 andis taking steps to cancel them.
