Dental check-ups in Scottish primary schools

Free access to dental check-ups in school is to be offered to Scotland's children up to twice a year until they leave primary school, leading to concerns over a widening gap in public services between England and Scotland.

Currently, Scottish school children are checked by a dentist at the ageof five, while pupils in England and Wales are screened three timesbetween the ages of six and nine.
