Early years settings

Early years settings can find details of how to take part in the next Chatterbox Challenge and raise money for children who have speech and language difficulties, with the 'Make Chatter Matter' flyer inside this week's issue of Nursery World. Participants in the 2003 Chatterbox Challenge helped to raise more than 100,000 for I CAN, the charity for children with speech and language difficulties. Next year's challenge runs from 2 to 6 February. Pre-school children can develop their communication skills while fundraising by being sponsored to learn a rhyme, story or song, which they can perform aloud. All nurseries and other early years settings that register with I CAN to join in will receive a free pack with a poster, sponsorship form, stickers and nursery rhymes for the children to learn. To register, either fill in the flyer, telephone 0870 350 0095 or visit the website www.ican.org.uk/chatter. The Chatterbox Challenge has been developed by I CAN with support and funding from the Tesco Baby and Toddler club.
