In your work with young children, do you place enough stress on promoting physical development? The focus on communication, language and literacy and mathematical development in particular means that physical development is often not accorded the same importance as other areas of learning in the early years. This problem unfortunately gets worse as children move up the school system, with PE given little time and attention.
