Eighteen-month-old Imogen Dale plays the drums

Eighteen-month-old Imogen Dale plays the drums in the new wing at Christopher Place in London, a unique centre for children under five who have hearing impairments or delays in speech, language and communication. The new wing was officially opened by the centre's patron, percussionist Evelyn Glennie, and features state of the art, acoustically-treated classrooms, one-to-one therapy booths and outdoor play areas. It increases the capacity for therapy provision from 250 to 375 children a year. Photograph by Neil Turner
