Burmatex, a major manufacturer of fibre-bonded carpet and tiles for public buildings, has recently introduced Benchmark, a carpet created specifically for nurseries and schools. Permafresh, a non-toxic permanent protection against bacteria, mould, mildew, fungi, house dust and mites, is inbuilt into the fibre, is unaffected by cleaning and designed to remain active throughout the carpet's life. This carpet is 85 percent polypropylene and 15 percent nylon and is available in sheet form in a wide range of colours.
