EYNTO cash for partnerships

Childcare partnerships across the UK stand to gain from more than 2m of European funding. The money has been awarded to the Early Years National Training Organisation (EYNTO) to increase access to courses and boost entry into the profession. The grants were awarded in the run-up to Christmas to cover Scotland, Wales and five English regions.

The money has been awarded to the Early Years National Training Organisation (EYNTO) to increase access to courses and boost entry into the profession. The grants were awarded in the run-up to Christmas to cover Scotland, Wales and five English regions.

The EYNTO will write to partnerships this month to inform them about the funding and how it can benefit them. EYNTO director Savita Ayling said, 'The money will support people who currently have a problem accessing funding for training. It will improve access to the orientation programme and to NVQs and SVQs.'

She added that while some partnerships have themselves put in successful bids for European Social Fund cash, this would help those who have not. 'Because the pot is so big, we are not taking money away from anyone else's bid,' she said.
