Loud and crowing (Cockerel) by Moira Butterfield and Wayne Ford (Belitha Press, 6.99), the rhyme 'The North Wind Doth Blow', feathers, warm clothes with different fasteners, clothing of thin fabric

Step by step

* Read the rhyme, look at the pictures of the robin and discuss how winter weather affects birds and people. Explain that birds, animals and people need warmth because we are warm-blooded.
