Miss Polly had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick

Fold arms and rock a pretend dolly.

So she called for the doctor to be quick, quick, quick

One hand to ear and one to mouth for telephone.

The doctor came with his bag and his hat

One hand swings bag and other holds hat on.

And he knocked on the door with a rat-a-tat-tat.

Knock one fist on palm of other hand.

He looked at the dolly, and he shook his head

Shake head very gravely.

And he said, 'Miss Polly, put her straight to bed'
