Five new primary schools are to be built in Glasgow

Five new primary schools are to be built in Glasgow with contracts awarded last week. The schools are being designed for out-of-school care and community use as well as education for three-to 12-year-olds and provision for children with special educational needs. In some cases the new schools will incorporate former nurseries and family centres. They are Castleton Primary, St Clare's Primary, Haghill Primary and St Benedict's Primary, due to be completed by August 2004, and Keppoch Campus, due by August 2005. Work is expected to start on all five sites by this April.
