Good foundations

I think the Foundation Stage's name couldn't be more correct as this is the time when young children learn most, yet as practitioners we nursery nurses are expected to work for very low salaries. Teachers who work with these children after we have done our bit and hopefully given them the thirst for learning, work on our foundations. Even though they earn three times as much as us, they still demand high pay rises while we get a pittance.
