Graduation day

Leaving nursery to start school can seem like a momentous event for some children and parents. So, if you're looking for something special to commemorate that day, why not stage your very own graduation day. The Nursery Graduation Company will come to your nursery, equipped with caps and gowns for all the children who are leaving, and organise group and individual photographs. You will then receive free samples of the photographs for parents to purchase, if they wish. In addition, free graduation diplomas will be sent to the nursery for you to sign and present to each child and an enlarged group photograph will also be sent with the company's compliments. Parents can order online or through the post and photographs are priced from 14 for a set of four small mounted pictures. If you wish to stage a ceremony of your own, complete with caps and gowns, you can rent these items in three sizes, to fit 3ft and under; 3ft 6ins to 3ft 9ins and 3ft 9ins-plus. Rental gowns and caps come in blue with gold tassels, priced from 4 per set. You can also purchase gowns from 20, according to the number you buy. Telephone 07984 929333 www.nurserygraduation.co.uk

You could also commemorate the 'Class of 2005' with some souvenir placemats, coasters or mousemats and raise funds at the same time. You need to have a group photograph or good quality digital output ready to send to Fundraising Matters who will then convert the image into the item of your choosing. You can also have your nursery's name, a good luck message or your school crest printed on the item. Remember, if you are using a photograph taken by a school photographer, their consent must be obtained.

Each coaster measures 9 x 11cm; placemats measure 24 x 19cm and the mousemats are just slightly smaller. The cost of a coaster is 1.35 and Fundraising Matters recommends a 2 selling price. Placemats are 3.38, with a recommended selling price of 4.50 and mousemats are 4.40, with a selling price of 6.
