Grannies of today

I think Linda Reid (Letters, 13 January) may be in danger of stereotyping grandparents. The majority of grandparents of the children in the nursery class where I work are younger than I am. I'm sure that they would be most taken aback if I asked them to show the children how to knit or talk about 'life in the past'!
