Learning through fun is on the after-school timetable for thousands of children in England following last week's news from the New Opportunities Fund of more grants for childcare projects. Children from Bristol's Muslim community are among those set to benefit from more than Pounds 12m in funding. Co-ordinator of the Humdard project, Jamila Aftab, said, 'The children don't often have an opportunity to attend other after-school clubs due to attending religious activities at the mosque every evening. Now with the help of the NOF they can receive religious education through Quranic and Islamic studies as well as improve literacy and numeracy skills through drama, poetry and maths games.'
