In brief: Clarification

Following the 'Parents' guide to swimming' (Nursery World, 5 July), some readers have asked whether babies can be taken swimming before they have their first immunisations. Guidelines from the NHS say babies can be taken swimming at any age, whether they have completed their immunisations or not. More information can be found at www.nhs.uk. In our guide we recommend the use of armbands - this should have read disc armbands, which can be removed one disc at a time.
