In brief...Children in Edinburgh

Children in Edinburgh are are being eased into primary school with the help of health visitors, family learning co-ordinators, a community dietician and play development co-ordinators as part of the city's New Community Schools initiative. The aim of the multi-agency approach is to give children a smooth transition into school and provide a solid start to the home-school relationship. Examples of good practice are set out in the latest New Community Schools newsletter, available on the Scottish Executive website at www.scotland.gov.uk.
