11 April 2001

The Scottish Executive set out its response to the Scottish Parliament's special educational needs inquiry report last week. Deputy education minister Nicol Stephen said the report was a helpful contribution to the ongoing debate into how to ensure children receive a quality education appropriate to their needs. He said many of the committee's recommendations complement work already being undertaken as part of the Executive's SEN Programme of Action.
