The number of child casualties on Britain's roads fell by six per cent last year, according to figures from the Department for Transport, Local Government and Regions. To highlight a new Government road safety campaign, an interactive website has been launched featuring games to teach safety skills to children aged five and up. The site is at www.hedgehogs.gov.uk and there is also a website for primary schools with teaching resources on child road safety for Key Stages 1 and 2 at www.schools.dtlr.gov.uk/primary.
