Isolated problem

I have been childminding for two years, but I have never felt so isolated in all my life. One of the children I look after seems to be out of control behaviour-ally. At times he is very destructive and violent towards the other children I look after. The boy is only two years old. He gets very angry quickly when he has to share toys with the other children. But the one day a week when I mind only him, he is completely different.

I have tried to cope in many different ways, from praising his good behaviour to 'time out' for bad behaviour, but he seems to be getting worse. As a result, I have asked his parents if they can place him elsewhere.

All of this has put me off childminding and now I am looking to work either in a day nursery where I would not be so isolated - though I am not so sure, having looked at the poor salaries for nursery staff - or go to work in an office instead.
