At this time of year the weather is either extremely cold or wet, so playing outside may not be a favoured option. Learning simple new card games can keep children entertained indoors for hours. Apart from a few players all you will need is a pack of ordinary playing cards.

* Shuffle cards.
* Deal all the cards.
* To start the game the person on the left of the dealer asks the person on their left for any value of card they like. However, they already have to hold a card of the same value. For example, if you have a three of hearts then you can ask for another three.
