Nursery World - Join NDNAnow, urges SINA director

A former director of the Scottish Independent Nurseries Association (SINA) is urging any Scottish private nursery providers who have not yet joined the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) to sign up immediately. SINA was dissolved in September and is currently setting up a new member organisation in partnership with the NDNA.

Patricia McGinty said, 'A large number of private providers have already joined the NDNA, but it is important that remaining providers join if they want to be represented at the highest level.

'Peter Peacock, Scotland's minister for education, has made it clear he understands the significant role the private sector plays in offering flexible and integrated services. However, it has also been made clear that any funding available from the Scottish Executive would be for just one organisation able to speak on behalf of pro- viders. Scottish providers must join NDNA to fight for their rights.'
