Kids' Clubs expand NHS staff places

The Kids' Clubs Network (KCN) has teamed up with the health service to double the number of places available on summer playschemes for the children of NHS staff in London. There are already approximately 500 places for NHS staff in on-site and partnership playschemes across London. The KCN has been invited to help extend the number of schemes offering childcare for children aged four to 14 to cover the working day of staff, in partnership with four London NHS Workforce Development Confederations.

The KCN has been invited to help extend the number of schemes offering childcare for children aged four to 14 to cover the working day of staff, in partnership with four London NHS Workforce Development Confederations.

Working with NHS childcare co-ordinators, the KCN will identify key areas of London where NHSstaff experience problems with school holiday childcare, and help to develop new out-of-school provision. It will also work to ensure that local authorities and Early Years Development and Childcare Partnerships are aware of the childcare needs of NHS staff, and its London development team will check the quality of the holiday playschemes.
