Decide what you want to use the computer for and the software that will let you achieve it, then find the model that suits your needs and funds. You can buy them from computer supermarkets such as PC World, local independent stores or direct sales companies such as Dell. Direct sales companies tend to have the cheapest prices, but you can't see what you're buying beforehand (although you could always pop into a local store first to try them out!).
