Celebrity and old-fashioned names were the big risers in the annual chart of the top 100 names given to babies in 2006, listed in The Daily Telegraph. 'Ruby' moved up to fourth place for newborn girls and 'Theo' was a new entrant in the top 100 for boys. 'Olivia' took the top girls' spot from last year's 'Jessica', but 'Jack' remained leader of the boys for the 12th year running. 'Muhammed' rose to 22nd place and the alternative spelling 'Muhammad' entered the top 50 in 44th place. For the full list of names visit www.statistics.gov.uk.
