Four children trying to dislodge conkers from a tree in Littlehampton, West Sussex, were stopped and searched by police who mistakenly believed the tree was the subject of a preservation order, reported The Times. Diana Jayne, one child's mother, said, 'Maybe police want children stuck in their bedrooms playing on computers.'
