According to The Daily Telegraph, the 'speed dating' craze has hit the childminding sector. FIfteen 'speed interviewing' events have been held across the country to help working mothers with little spare time find the ideal carer for their child. Using the same techniques as speed dating to match carers with families is gaining momentum with councils across the country, the paper said. A headteacher in Norfolk is 'bribing' pupils with chocolate bars in an effort to reduce the number of exclusions from school, the Daily Mail reported. AndrewSheppard, of Redcastle Furze Primary School in Thetford, said that the 100 that had been splashed out on chocolate was 'money well spent' and that children were now encouraging each other to stay out of trouble.

Researchers at Nottingham University have come up with a theory as to why young children may dislike their green vegetables. The Daily Telegraph reported that the colour green is a 'turn off', along with greys and browns, and that children as young as four months prefer bright colours, particularly red and blue.
