Technology is threatening the traditional letter to Father Christmas, with toy stores offering children online alternatives, said the Daily Mail.

Argos' new webpage allows children to build a wish list of up to 30gifts before sending it to Santa with a mouse. An e-mail first goes totheir parents to check the list is appropriate before being sent tofamily and friends.

Mothers have a greater say in choosing names for their newborn babiesthan fathers, according to a survey by Bounty Parenting Club reported inthe Daily Telegraph. Researchers found that four out of ten fathers areforced to back down and let their partners select the baby's name, andthat the average couple considers 12 names before selecting theirfavourite.
