- A three-year-old boy became a hero after he climbed through a tiny window to reach a woman who was slipping into a diabetic coma, reported The Metro. Leon Herdman was walking past Nicola Hodge's house in Neath, Glamorgan with his mother when they heard faint cries. 'I'll do it, mum,' said Leon, before he climbed in, found the keys and opened the door. Ms Hodge is now recovering in hospital.

- The latest 'Blue Peter' scandal saw an editor suspended for naming theBBC programme's new cat Socks - not the winning name chosen by youngviewers in a poll. A BBC source told The Guardian, 'I think the feelingwas that if we can't honestly name a Blue Peter cat, then really, thatis perhaps the last straw in this whole fiasco.'
