Parents concerned to start the battle against child obesity early are driving up sales of baby foods, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The popularity of quality foods with 100 per cent natural ingredientshas sparked an 8 per cent rise in sales to 133m a year. Thelargest growth occurred in the baby finger-food market, with sales ofsnacks such as rusks and rice cakes rising 18 per cent.

A ten-year-old boy in Mexico glued himself to his bed to avoid goingback to school after Christmas, according to BBC News. Diego Palaciosfrom outside Monterrey got up early to use the industrial-strength glueon his own hand, because 'the holidays were such fun'. After two hoursof attempting to free him with nail varnish remover, his mother Sandracalled the paramedics. Diego watched cartoons throughout.
