Menus stay healthy

A news story (In Brief, 5 June) has given the misleading impression that ChildBase has scrapped its commitment to new menus at our nurseries. This is not the case. The new menus, encouraging healthy eating, will continue. With less fat, less salt and less processed food in the children's diets, we have been delighted with the support parents have given to the initiative.

It is always disappointing that the positive steps are not those that make the headlines. Maybe the former BBC newsreader Martyn Lewis's assessment of news coverage being almost always negative has some validity.
