'Minder in a million' sought in Province

* Parents in Northern Ireland are invited to nominate their childminder as the 'minder in a million' in a competition being run jointly by the Northern Ireland Childminding Association (NICMA) and baby food manufacturer Cow and Gate. NICMA director Bridget Nodder said, 'The aims of the competition are synonymous with those of NICMA - to foster first-class practices and to celebrate the childminders who reach the highest standards.' The winner will receive 500 and their nominator a 'thank you' of 100. Runners-up will receive 50 each and there is a special reward of Pounds 250 for a childminder who cares for a child with special needs or disabilities.
