Minders keepers

A special membership package for nannies was launched this month by the National Childminding Association, in response to the Government's voluntary approval scheme being introduced from next April that will make some nanny employers eligible for tax credits. For 120.50 a year nannies will receive an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure, public liability insurance, free legal advice and representation, two handbooks and other information and support from the NCMA. Chief executive Gill Haynes said, 'We recognised that Government plans to extend the reach of tax credits presented a key opportunity for us to broaden the support we already give registered childminders to nannies, who also often work in isolation.' For details and application forms ring the NCMA membership services line on 020 8290 8999.
