Nanny knows best

'Supernanny' has proved such a hit that the Government is getting in on the act. A new scheme to tackle anti-social behaviour will see a specially-trained social worker go into problem households and, according to the Sunday Times earlier this month, use tactics similar to Supernanny Jo Frost's to get the children to school in the morning and to bed in the evening and ensure parents toe the line on their responsibilities in the home. Home Office minister Hazel Blears said the purpose of the scheme is to 'help people change their behaviour'. No snide remarks about the nanny state, please.
