New laws giving rights to unpaid parental leave

New laws giving rights to unpaid parental leave have helped to persuade companies to adopt more flexible working practices, according to research supported by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. However, concerns about retaining skilled staff are more likely to prompt employers to adopt family-friendly working arrangements. A team drawn from three Scottish universities looked at 17 Scottish companies in the financial services sector to carry out the study. The full report, Family-friendly working?
