New Montessori course offers rigour

Careers & Training
Lincolnshire Montessori is rolling out its new Level 4 Montessori Early Childhood Teaching Diploma after Easter. The course is aimed at those looking to work with two to five-year-olds and who are qualified to at least Level 2.

Delivered by Montessori teacher and trainer Theresa Ellerby, the course covers a wide range of areas, including an overview of underpinining philosophy and principles, the Montessori theory of child development, freedom and discipline, social development and interactions, the environment and Montessori materials and other resources.

Lincolnshire Montessori has opted to deliver the course on Monday afternoons, when nursery sessions usually tend to be quieter, rather than ask staff to attend in the evening. It will be delivered over 12 to 18 months, from its training centre at Top House in Caistor, and will provide 200 hours of contact time and 200 hours of work-based practice. It is accredited through Montessori Education (UK).
