The resource, Language and literacy: Learning together, was produced by the British Dyslexia Association (BDA) and Afasic in conjunction with the Department of Human Communication Science at University College London. Developed from a joint research project funded by GlaxoSmithKline, its aim is to enable early years professionals to work effectively with each other and with parents to understand the links between speech, language and literacy, and to ensure that children who need extra support are identified early on.
The pack costs 192.76 (inc VAT) from the BDA, 98 London Road, Reading RG1 5AU. A series of training seminars will be held in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (27 February), Exeter (6 March), University of Birmingham (7 March), University of Sheffield (20 March), and Manchester (6 April). To book a free place, contact 020 7679 4046 (answerphone).
