NEW HOME FOR NURSERY
Haverigg Nursery School in Millom, Cumbria, will be relocated to astate-of-the-art building to be created in the grounds of a primaryschool next to the present site. The two-storey building is planned todouble as a community centre and will give the 28-place nursery indoorand outdoor play areas, sleeping accommodation and improved stafffacilities. The Light Centre will occupy the first floor, providingeducation, training and recreation space for the local community.
HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY
Alpha Pre-school in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire held a fancy dressparty to celebrate the day 40 years ago that the nursery first openedits doors. Alpha Pre-school started as a small group meeting insomeone's house and has grown to a 26-place establishment, catering for58 children over eight sessions a week. At the party the children andstaff enjoyed dancing and a magic show.
