Martenscroft Nursery School and Sure Start Children's Centre in Hulme,Manchester, has been judged 'outstanding' by Ofsted. Inspectors saidbabies and children at the 102-place centre were 'exceptionally wellcared for' and praised the management and staff. The inspection focusedon the links between leadership and management, and the outcomes forchildren and families.
Montessori merit
The Children's House Nursery and Montessori School in Stallingborough,Lincolnshire, has received a kitemark award for quality by MontessoriEducation UK (MEUK), only the second centre in the north of England togain the award. The assessors' report praised the quality of thesetting's education and the Montessori environment. The centre wasinspected for its curriculum, staff, management effectiveness andpartnership with parents. Staff were praised for their dedication andenthusiasm.
