- Here comes the sun

Children at Little Acorns nursery in Gomersal, West Yorkshire, marked the eclipse of the sun on 15 January with a day of themed activities. The children talked about what happens during an eclipse and the effect this has on the earth, and also how children can stay safe in the sunlight. They also created sun and moon mobiles and made sunglasses from cardboard tubes.

Children at one of the 22 Treetops Nurseries across England extended their play and learning outdoors to make the most of the last flurries of the big snowfall.
