- All hail St George

St George's Day on 23 April provided a lively focus for nurseryactivities around the country. Children at Little Acorns in Gomersal,West Yorkshire, acted out the story of St George and painted his flag ontheir faces, while children at the Wendy House in Shingay-cum-Wendy nearRoyston, Hertfordshire, dressed as knights and dragons and made a horsefor George to ride.

- Cafe society

Children at Highams Park Day Nursery and Pre-school in London openedtheir own cafe in the setting and served croissants, pancakes, and freshand dried fruit to staff and parents, who were impressed with theirgenerous hospitality.

- Walk with a smile

Staff, children and parents from Hatton Hill Day Nursery in Windleshamtook part in a walk to raise money for local children's cancer charityChristopher's Smile. All the children who participated received a medaland a certificate from the Mayor.
