London Early Years Foundation's Carlton Hill nursery has been awardedoutstanding by Ofsted. Inspectors commented on the nursery's excellentrelationship with parents and its outdoor play facilities, as well asthe children's well-maintained learning journeys.
- Generous gruffalo
Children, their families and staff from KidsUnlimited's Pentland Housenursery in Wilmslow, Cheshire, celebrated the nursery's 20th anniversarylast month with a picnic, tombola, grand raffle and a performance bystaff of popular storybook The Gruffalo. The event raised 1,000,and the nursery is donating 500 of it towards funding anoperation for one of the children, who has cerebral palsy.
- Ugly bug ball
ABC Nursery Limited in Willenhall, West Midlands, held an Ugly BugSummer Ball to celebrate the longest day of the year. The ball includedlive snail races, a drama session and arts and crafts, followed by alunch of 'worm pie' and butterfly cakes made by the children.
