Childcare workers should find a new magazine from the NSPCC a 'useful tool', the charity said last week.

The first issue of Your Family, a free quarterly magazine, was launched in 400 Woolworths stores nationwide last week.

Aimed at families with children up to six years old and parents-to-be, it contains tips on how to bring up happy children, advice on dealing with bullying and real-life parent diaries.

Eileen Hayes, editor-in-chief and NSPCC parenting advisor, said that the magazine would offer 'quality parenting information in a reader-friendly format'.

She said, 'When those working with pre-school and nursery children are asked by parents where to go for parenting advice, they can point people in the direction of the magazine.'

A panel of childcare experts, including nutritionist and children's food author Suzannah Olivier and Sheffield University senior lecturer in education Cathy Nutbrown, will answer readers' questions and give advice.
