(Photograph) - The NSPCC put up 2,000 posters across England, Wales and Northern Ireland last week to challenge the idea that smacking children is 'common sense'. NSPCC director Mary Marsh said, 'We want to spark serious and informed public and political debate, which will contribute to changing attitudes to our children. Hitting children is a child protection issue for everyone in society.'
