The block play area in the Rainbow room at Rainbow Nursery, Middleston Moor, is a stimulating place for children to spend their time. Staff have created an eye-catching small display that not only encourages them to visit but also informs parents and other visitors of some of the learning that is taking place. The idea is simple and could easily be modified to motivate children and inform adults in other nursery areas.

* Consider the predominant resources in the chosen area and follow this as a theme if possible. In this case a small display board was backed with a natural material, hessian, to link with the natural wooden shelving and wooden blocks.
