Everybody found themselves at sea when Touch Nursery School in Fife, Scotland, had a visit from Deep Sea World As part of an underwater project we arranged for children to actually meet some the creatures we had been reading about. Deep Sea World, the national aquarium of Scotland, offers an outreach programme that brings the underwater experience to children to see and touch sea creatures. The cost of the session was 100.

Aquarium staff introduced themselves to the children and started the presentation by telling a story about a crab who lost his shell. They showed visual aids including a shark jawbone and a stuffed shark. This helped prepare the three- to five-year-olds for what they were about to see and handle.
