For this part of the project, children should be able to supply lots of different varieties of shell. You'll find a range of sea creatures on sale at most aquariums and check out your local Sainsbury's - they now sell tubs of sea creatures reference books about molluscs and crustaceans some land and water snails (these can be bought at a garden centre) two small tanks Step by step

* Let the children spend some time watching the snails moving up the sides of the tanks.
