The nursery and childcare sector excelled at the Learning and Skills Council's 2008 Apprenticeship Awards.
Kingscliffe Day Nursery in Leicestershire won the Micro-employer of theYear category and the Ark Day Nursery, West Yorkshire, was highlycommended in the small business category. The sixth year of the awardscomes as Prime Minister Gordon Brown announced plans to increaseapprenticeship funding.
